Complex World

Heartbreak Hits, 1992

Comedy / Musical / Action - motion picture - theatrical release
Director: Jim Wolpaw - Starring: Stanley Matis, Margo Dionne, Allen Oliver

Billed as a thoroughly crazed, go-for-broke rock 'n roll cult comedy, Complex World's Heartbreak Hotel club in Providence, Rhode Island, may not survive the night. The owner's grubby politician father is ready to sic terrorists onto the Hotel in an effort to gain political clout by shutting it down - a loser rock singer aims to go out on stage in a blaze of glory - and the city fathers of Providence want to level the club for its valuable real estate and secretly arrange for a brutal motorcycle gang to converge on the club - all the same night. True to its title, the action and plot are complex...and strangely hilarious. (Note: Film was shot on location in Carl's hometown, Providence, RI.)

She's not adverse to stretching the truth and tells the townspeople that she and Davis are married. They all, including Davis' parents, take her to their collective bosom. When Davis finally discovers Gwen in his home, he wants her out - which proves not so easy because the townsfolk want her to stay. And Becky is having second thoughts about Davis as well. Davis and Gwen agree she can stay there until their "divorce." Problem is, the townspeople keep trying things to get Gwen and Davis to reconcile. (Note: Film was shot on location in MassachusettsI.)
