Complex World Heartbreak Hits, 1992 |
Comedy / Musical
/ Action - motion picture - theatrical release
Billed as a thoroughly crazed, go-for-broke rock 'n roll cult comedy, Complex World's Heartbreak Hotel club in Providence, Rhode Island, may not survive the night. The owner's grubby politician father is ready to sic terrorists onto the Hotel in an effort to gain political clout by shutting it down - a loser rock singer aims to go out on stage in a blaze of glory - and the city fathers of Providence want to level the club for its valuable real estate and secretly arrange for a brutal motorcycle gang to converge on the club - all the same night. True to its title, the action and plot are complex...and strangely hilarious. (Note: Film was shot on location in Carl's hometown, Providence, RI.) |
